Responsibilities

  1. Requirement Gathering and Analysis:
    • Work with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements.
    • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
  2. System and Process Improvements:
    • Analyze existing banking processes and systems to identify inefficiencies or gaps.
    • Recommend and document improvements to enhance productivity, customer experience, and compliance.
  3. Stakeholder Management:
    • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
    • Facilitate communication to ensure mutual understanding of goals and constraints.
  4. Technical Expertise:
    • Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and test new banking applications, platforms, or updates.
    • Understand banking technologies like core banking systems, payment gateways, and digital banking platforms.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure solutions align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
    • Identify risks associated with technical implementations and recommend mitigation strategies.
  6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyze data trends and create reports to support decision-making.
    • Use tools like SQL, Excel, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  7. Project Management:
    • Support project teams by preparing business cases, assisting in project planning, and ensuring deliverables are met.
    • Utilize Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies as required.

Qualifications

Key Skills:

  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Core banking systems (e.g., Temenos, Finacle, FIS).
    • Payment and transaction systems (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA, UPI).
    • Database management and querying (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
    • Cloud technologies and APIs.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
    • Strong analytical thinking to solve complex business and technical challenges.
    • Proficiency in creating workflows, wireframes, and use-case diagrams.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
    • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Exceptional documentation skills using tools like Confluence, Jira, or MS Office.
  • Regulatory Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with industry standards like PCI DSS, AML/KYC, Basel norms, and GDPR.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis or related role. 

Certifications:

  • Business Analyst Certifications (e.g., CBAP, CCBA).
  • Banking or Finance-specific certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM).
  • Agile or Scrum certifications (e.g., CSPO, CSM).
  • Technical certifications (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure).
