Jackson Kimathi, known as Jack, is a dedicated legal professional with over 10 years of experience in banking law, litigation management, debt structuring, and corporate governance. As the Head of Legal Services at Kingdom Bank Limited, Jack plays a key role in managing the Bank’s legal operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing sound legal advice across the institution.
Jack holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Moi University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and has recently earned his certification as a Certified Secretary (CS) . Jack is also a Certified Mediator, adding to his capabilities in dispute resolution outside of the courtroom.
Jack began his career in 2011 at Mohammed Muigai Advocates, where he developed foundational skills in litigation. In 2013, he joined Ecobank Kenya as a Legal Officer in the Recoveries Department, managing litigation and contributing to debt recovery efforts. His experience at Ecobank led him to Cooperative Bank of Kenya in 2018, where he worked as a Legal Manager, handling litigation matters and providing legal support to various subsidiaries. Since August 2020, Jack has headed the Legal Services Department at Kingdom Bank, overseeing litigation, securities, conveyancing, and debt structuring.
Jack has been recognised in the Legal 500 In-House Counsel Power List and has been nominated for the In-House Counsel of the Year by the Nairobi Legal Awards on several occasions. He is a member of the Law Society of Kenya and a recipient of the President’s Award, Gold Standard. Jack approaches his work with a focus on practical solutions and strives to align legal strategies with the broader business goals of the Bank.
